Emma Robertson is senior lecturer, history at the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University.
Emma joined the School in June 2011, having spent the previous four years as Senior Lecturer in History at Sheffield Hallam University, UK.
She completed her PhD on the chocolate industry at the University of York in 2005, and has since published a monograph with Manchester University Press, Chocolate, Women and Empire: A Social and Cultural History (2009). Her first postdoctoral project explored the history of music in the workplace, resulting in the coauthored book, Rhythms of Labour: Music at Work in Britain (2013). She has also worked on the history of the BBC World Service. Her current ARC-funded research explores the history of women working in non-traditional occupations in Britain and Australia.
