Stuart Kells

Professor Stuart Kells is a writer, antiquarian book dealer, and Adjunct Professor at La Trobe University's College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce, and Honorary Senior Research Fellow in Federation University's Collaborative Research Centre in Australian History.

His history of Penguin Books (Black Inc. and Nanjing University Press) won the Ashurst Australian Business Literature Prize. His book The Library was shortlisted for the Prime Minister's literary award (non-fiction) and the NSW Premier's literary prize (general history). He has also written for the Paris Review, the Guardian, Lapham's Quarterly, National Geographic Traveller, the Daily Beast and many other publications.
