Dr Billy Griffiths is a historian and research fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation, and an Associate Investigator with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage (CABAH). He has published in the fields of Indigenous history, political history, deep history and the history of science, especially archaeology and anthropology. His research encourages a dialogue between the sciences and the humanities and explores the challenges and possibilities of citizenship in a settler nation with a deep Indigenous history. He is the author of the award-winning Deep Time Dreaming.
